Thank you for this week! (December 8th)

Hello again!

Very busy this week, making headway across the boards, but I didn’t make any headboards this week…

Picking up where we left off, the truck is running well and the weather is mostly nice, so we’re very thankful for both of those things.

In Facility Management, we got one building resolved already, turned out it was a loose hose caused by the tenant’s kid playing with the washer hoses (whoops!) so we got the hoses tightened up, explained to the Plumber-to-be that it’s important to shut off the water valve, then set a bucket or water trap down prior to opening the hose connection, and things are back to normal operations there.

Another facility is awaiting a camera inspection of the main line, and I expect all the news from that. If a picture is worth a thousands words, how much is a video worth?

In Carpentry I’ve got three open projects; one that I built some boxes to put heaters in so we can keep the concrete warm while it’s drying:

This will allow me to apply the concrete vinyl patching compound to get the shape we need prior to installing the trim that goes around the garage roll up door.

The other project is waiting for a new door to be picked out, but we can go ahead with the Rough opening repairs:

This cover allows the homeowner to continue to use their space while we’re sorting out details, taking the pressure of time off so they can make decisions based on quality, design, and choice, and not being pressed into something ‘right now’.

In the shop we cleaned up and organized a bit, and worked through a couple of small projects, nothing exciting there, just stuff right now.

I am looking to partner with companies that perform organization work; I want to be the company that builds the shelves, racks, or systems for organizing the things in the space they’re organizing.

I’m also finalizing plans for my own add-on: Garage organization. I’m open to partnering with someone there, too, or I can handle that completely in house.

Behind the scenes I’m excited about the possibility of replacing my bookkeeping/business software with something better, and the vendor I’m working with now seems promising, but we have yet to see for sure.

Nice weather forecasted next week, so here’s to getting projects done, moved forward, or estimated!

If you’ve got projects you’re looking to get done, don’t hesitate to reach out today!
